Truly modern Hyundai 2023 IONIQ 6 unveiled at Fieldays

29 November 2022 – The showstopping all-new Hyundai 2023 IONIQ 6 makes its New Zealand debut at National Fieldays this Wednesday, with EV features never seen in this country.

The four-door IONIQ 6 has a maximum driving range of 614 kilometres[i] and features best-in-class ultra-fast charging that can charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 25 minutes.[ii]

“IONIQ 6 is a vehicle for its time,” says Andy Sinclair, Hyundai New Zealand CEO. “Internal power outlets can charge phones and laptops, while an external power outlet can charge larger electronic devices – including another electric vehicle.”

Sinclair says the new IONIQ builds on the success of its previous iterations.

“The dual electric motors, ultra-low drag coefficient, and all-wheel drive capacity promise the sportiness a new-age vehicle deserves, while a roomy interior and ultra-fast charging offer the reliability and practicality busy families need.”

The new single-curved aerodynamic profile creates Hyundai’s lowest-ever drag coefficient of 0.21[iii], assisted by a low nose, active air flaps, wheel gap reducers, and an elliptical wing-inspired spoiler.

“Coupled with state-of-the-art driver assistance, a voice recognition system, touchscreen infotainment dashboard, and customisable interior ambient lighting, the IONIQ 6 is truly a vehicle for the modern age,” says Sinclair.

“Beneath the sleek design lie environmental secrets at the core of IONIQ. Both the interior and exterior are made using sustainable materials. Even the carpets are made from recycled fishing nets.”

IONIQ 6 goes on sale summer 2023. Pricing will be announced closer to the on-sale date.
