22 May 2023: Hyundai New Zealand proudly announces that Wattie Suematsu, a skilled technician based at McVerry Crawford Hyundai in Palmerston North, has been awarded the esteemed New Zealand Certificate in Electric Vehicle Automotive Engineering (Level 5) from MITO, becoming the first Hyundai recipient in the country.

This prestigious certification recognizes his comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in servicing and maintaining electric vehicles, an increasingly significant segment in the automotive industry.

As a result of this collaboration, Hyundai New Zealand's Electric Vehicle Technical Training program is now recognized by MITO. This recognition significantly shortens the time required for Hyundai EV Master Technicians, including Suematsu, to achieve the Level 5 qualification.
