Gary Cockram Hyundai now Principal Partner of the Crusaders
Hyundai to feature on the front of the team’s home jerseys from 2020
Long-term Crusaders sponsor, Gary Cockram Hyundai, has today announced that, with support from Hyundai New Zealand, they have extended their partnership with the Investec Super Rugby club and will feature on the front of the team’s home jerseys from the 2020 season.
Christchurch’s Gary Cockram Hyundai has been the official vehicle provider and sponsor of the Crusaders since 2009, and Crusaders CEO Colin Mansbridge said it is fantastic to have Hyundai New Zeland on board to elevate their partnership after more than a decade as part of the Crusaders family: “Hyundai are forward-thinking and innovative, and they care about the local community here in Canterbury, so we’re really proud that the team will wear their brand on our home jerseys from 2020.
“We’ve had a great relationship with the Gary Cockram Hyundai team for a number of years now, and we’re thrilled that this new partnership will allow us to continue to build on that. Hyundai are all about families, and connecting with our fans to better their experience at our games, which is a win-win for Hyundai, the Crusaders and our supporters,” Mr Mansbridge said.
Hyundai New Zealand is a 100% Kiwi owned and operated business and since it was established, it has always had a strong commitment to support the things Kiwis care about; from sport, to youth development, innovation and family-orientated initiatives.
Hyundai New Zealand General Manager Andy Sinclair said: “Crusaders are a much loved and followed rugby team here in New Zealand. Cantabrians are rugby mad, and demonstrate a sense of pride, commitment and community, which we can relate to. We’re excited to work with Gary Cockram Hyundai, our local Christchurch dealership to help further enhance the engagement with Crusaders fans.”
Dealer Principal, Dougal Cockram, announced the elevation of their partnership with some of the Crusaders’ other commercial partners on Thursday, at an event in their new showroom on the corner of Durham and St Asaph Streets in Christchurch. Today’s public announcement aligns with the release of the 2020 Investec Super Rugby jerseys by Adidas.
Mr Cockram said: "After years of passionately supporting the Crusaders, we (Gary Cockram Hyundai) are thrilled to take the next step with Hyundai New Zealand and drive the team further than what was possible before. As fans, we aim to utilise this incredible opportunity and do our part to create a memorable and exciting 2020 season; not only for the players, but for the fans that we’ve stood side-by-side with for over 10 years."
As announced last month, another long-term Crusaders sponsor, BNZ, will continue their relationship with the club as the Official Bank of the Crusaders, but will no longer feature on the front of the team’s jersey or as naming-rights sponsor. Fiji Airways has been confirmed to feature on the front of the team’s away jerseys from 2020.
