Every new Hyundai is covered by our 3 year / 100,000km (whichever comes first) factory warranty to safeguard you against any unforeseen mechanical failures, manufacturing or assembly defects.

Hyundai Roadside Assistance is included as part of this. Should you have a breakdown, puncture a tyre or run out of fuel or charge, anywhere in New Zealand, we’ll send someone to get you up and running again – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Which vehicles are covered by the Factory Warranty?
Every new Hyundai is covered by our 3 year / 100,000 km (whichever comes first) factory warranty.
What is covered by the Warranty?
Any part of a new Hyundai vehicle manufactured or supplied by Hyundai, that is found to be defective in material or workmanship under normal use and maintenance.
What is not covered by the Warranty?
Your vehicle will not be covered by the Warranty if:
a) We find that its defects are due to careless handling, accidents or insufficient servicing and maintenance as specified in the owner's manual or service passport.
b) Its defects are due to use of non Genuine Hyundai parts or lubricants.
c) It has been modified without written approval from Hyundai.

What is the benefit of only using Genuine Hyundai parts?
Genuine Hyundai parts are built and tested to be specifically correct for your vehicle and are covered by a 1 year/20,000km warranty. Your safety, and the safety of your passengers are our number one priority. We can’t vouch for the safety or performance of non-Hyundai parts. They have to be only slightly off or incorrectly installed and the integrity of your vehicle will be compromised.
Is 24-hour emergency roadside assistance included?
Yes, Hyundai Roadside Assistance is included as part of our new vehicle warranty. This means that if you have a breakdown, puncture a tyre or run out of fuel, anywhere in New Zealand, we’ll send someone to get you up and running again – 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Just phone 0800 HYUNDAI (498 632).
Is the Warranty transferrable if I sell my vehicle?
Yes. If you sell your vehicle within the warranty period, the balance of your warranty transfers to the new owner. That’s a win-win!
If I have concerns with my Hyundai during the warranty period, what is the best way of getting my car repaired?
All warranty repairs must be carried out at an authorised Hyundai Dealership. Please call us on 0800 498 632 or contact your local Hyundai Dealership to book the vehicle in for an inspection.
How do I see the full details of the Warranty?

5 year / 150,000km Extended Warranty on selected models

We offer an extended 5 year / 150,000km warranty programme on selected models registered from 1st January 2025 when a Hyundai service plan is purchased for the vehicle. Not only will you get the reassurance of extended warranty coverage and 24 hour roadside assistance, you will also see the benefits of scheduled servicing included in the package.

5 year / 150,000km Extended Warranty FAQs

What does this Extended Warranty provide?
This Extended Warranty provides the same cover as the factory warranty, but for longer! It provides an additional two years or 50,000km warranty on selected models, on top of the standard 3 year factory warranty. All up, it amounts to a 5 year or 150,000km warranty period (whichever comes first).
Which vehicles are eligible for this Extended Warranty?
The following models registered on or after 1 January 2025 are eligible:
- SANTA FE 1.6T Hybrid (model code MX5)
- TUCSON 1.6T Hybrid (model code NX4 Series II MY2025)
- KONA 1.6 Hybrid (model code SX2)
- KONA Petrol (model code SX2)
What are the conditions of this Extended Warranty?
1. You'll need to purchase a minimum 3-year Service Plan and ensure your vehicle receives regular maintenance and inspection according to our recommended maintenance schedule (for years 1 - 5).
2. All maintenance must be done by qualified Hyundai technicians at authorised Hyundai dealers using genuine Hyundai parts.
3. Your vehicle is one of the eligible models and its initial registration date is on or after 1 January 2025.
Is the Warranty and Service Plan transferrable if I sell my vehicle?
Yes, the Extended Warranty and Service Plan are fully transferrable to the new owner.
Can I extend this Warranty beyond 5 years?
Yes you can! Please talk to us about your options.

How long is the Bumper to Bumper Extended Warranty cover?
You choose the extended warranty terms of 12, 24 or 36 months. And you’ve got 6 months from when you purchase your new Hyundai to decide whether an Extended Warranty is for you.

Hyundai passenger vehicles are eligible if they meet both conditions below:
• Less than 10 years old from date of first registration
• Driven less than 200,000km
How long is the Used Vehicle Warranty cover?
You choose the warranty. We offer 12, 24, or 36 month used vehicle policies for passenger vehicles. There’s no kilometre limit on passenger vehicle warranties provided your vehicle has done less than 200,000km at the time you purchase the warranty. 
Is the Warranty transferrable if I sell my vehicle?
Totally transferable! You can transfer your Hyundai Hassle Free Warranty to the next owner. Always a nice resale value bonus.
Is 24-hour emergency roadside assistance included?
