Tūaropaki Trust embraces fuel cell technology with Hyundai NEXO

Tūaropaki Trust, a land-based organisation near Taupō with interests in geothermal energy, milk powder production, energy services, horticulture, food innovation technology, viticulture and dairy farming, has taken ownership of a new Hyundai NEXO.

XCIENT Fuel Cell (FCEV) project update

A month ago our first XCIENT hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric truck completed its conversion into right-hand drive, undertaken by local engineers in Cambridge. The truck has been painted and bodywork is underway, ready to enter service in a freight fleet. We’ll be able to tell you more soon.

NZ Car of the Year, IONIQ 5, now World Car of the Year

The Hyundai IONIQ 5 won big at the prestigious 2022 World Car Awards overnight, with the all-electric named World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year and World Car Design of the Year. IONIQ 5 was recognised by a jury of 102 automotive journalists from 33 countries around the world. The innovative battery electric vehicle (BEV), which has already won New Zealand Car of the Year, won all three categories in which it was nominated.

Paddon’s sixth NZRC title bid off to strong start

Kiwi rally star Hayden Paddon, co-driver John Kennard and the Hyundai New Zealand Rally team put together a near perfect performance for the opening round of the New Zealand Rally Championship (NZRC) in Dunedin over the weekend of 9-10 April.
