Hyundai has New Zealand’s largest small car range. Imagine all of our previous learnings and experience gained across the range being refined and concentrated into the smallest of our vehicles. The i20. It’s the best of Hyundai – distilled.
So in the i20, you’ll find what we have learnt about strength, power and economy in developing one of the world’s most efficient engines. From the clearly visible updated design of fluidic flowing-lines, to the thrill of well-balanced suspension and handling – it’s all there.
The striking new looks have been refined at our European Design Centre in Russelsheim, Germany to be more sporty and purposeful - inside and out. Beyond the sharp styling are more advancements such as improved engine and safety features.

Find out about a new Hyundai before you buy, from an owner in your neck of the woods. Or, if you love your Hyundai already, spread the word. It’s easy.
The fluidic design of the i20 allows the air to ease itself effortlessly out of the way. The Hyundai i20 is longer, with redesigned body-coloured folding door mirrors, door handles, and features 15” alloy wheels on the GLS model. It’s easy to park, fun to drive and a real inner-city eye-catcher.
Hyundai’s designers have done something magical with the i20. They have put a spacious cabin inside a small car. Inside, everything is at your fingertips. The steering wheel tilts and telescopes to your preferred position, and has controls for radio, iPod® or external music device. Behind the wheel, you will find the Hyundai i20 is a very nice place to be indeed.
The i20 is a small car with a big heart. Its 1.4 4-cylinder MPI 16-valve engine with overhead cam delivers 73.5 kW at 5,500 rpm and 136 Nm of torque at 4,200 rpm. With the option of either a super-slick 6-speed manual transmission or HiVec 4-speed automatic transmission, the i20 delivers our best small-car power and fuel efficiency.
Safety is paramount at Hyundai. The i20 has a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.
The i20 has a reinforced-steel body and rigid cabin, with front and rear crumple-zones. The doors have side-impact intrusion-bars. Pre-tensioners are fitted to the front seat belts, and a three-point seat belt is fitted to the centre rear seat.
