New Zealand’s roads are uncompromising. Short straights end abruptly in sudden hills; their winding inclines in-turn precede steep declines. Road surfaces, markings, cambers and widths change constantly. The new i40 Wagon is equally uncompromising in its ability to handle everything the New Zealand road can throw at it, and it does so with grace and style - thanks to Hyundai’s fluidic sculpture design. But the i40 is so much more than just eye-catching design. It offers impressive fuel-economy, a powerful engine with petrol and diesel options, as well as being one of the world’s safest cars on the road. And it’s a wagon.

New Zealand roads.

Find out about a new Hyundai before you buy, from an owner in your neck of the woods. Or, if you love your Hyundai already, spread the word. It’s easy.
The new i40 Wagon is a sight to behold. Hyundai's "fluidic sculpture" design presents a flowing, liquid line from the highly distinctive headlights to the spoiler-mounted safety lamp fitted with bright red LED's. LED side-indicators provide maximum brightness and enhanced safety. The i40 Wagon offers two wheel options: 16-inch alloy wheels, featuring an elegant new spoke design and 18-inch alloy wheels on the Elite and Limited models.
Inside the i40 Wagon is a celebration of high-level design, workmanship and attention to detail. You will find all the features you could want from an incredible 1719 litres of boot space to paddle shifters, heated steering wheel with entertainment controls at your fingertips, heated seats through to a convenient reversing camera (Elite Models Only). The new i40 offers so much more.
The new i40 Wagon has two engine options: the all-new 2.0 litre Nu direct-injection petrol engine achieves 130kW @ 6,500rpm, and the new high powered 1.7 litre UII diesel engine delivers 100kW @ 4,000rpm. Coupled to the 6 speed automatic transmission, both deliver smooth and quietly outstanding driving performance.
Rest assured, the new i40 Wagon is one of the safest vehicles in the road. The body shell is made of ultra high-tensile steel from Hyundai’s own refinery. There are nine airbags plus Electronic Stability Control (ESC), all new Cornering Brake Control, Hill Start Assist Control and the Emergency Stop Signal. That’s why the i40 Wagon has the maximum 5-Star ANCAP safety rating.
