FTCS (Brake System + Engine TCS)

FTCS Brake System

If the wheels begin to spin when accelerating or moving forward from a stopped position, the TCS brake system minimises slippage by applying brake pressure to decrease wheel torque. Critically, this system decreases engine torque as well. When the wheels begin to spin, TCS communicates with the engine and the automatic transmission, decreasing engine output, and applying brake pressure to lower the driving torque. The decrease in engine output occurs through a combination of throttle, ignition timing, and fuel supply adjustments, among others. Hyundai selects the most appropriate methods for each model. The TCS brake system is also activated during high-speed turns to ensure a maximum level of safety.
