Hyundai i30, half-million sales worldwide would stretch the length of New Zealand.

Hyundai i30, the trend-setting small car which has already grabbed a slice of New Zealand hearts, has reached half a million sales worldwide.

If all the i30 vehicles sold so far were lined up bumper to bumper they would stretch the length of New Zealand, about 2,000km.

In less than three years i30 has collected more than 22 international awards for its dynamic driving ability and innovative design.

In this country the i30 is the Supreme Winner of the latest AA Motoring Excellence awards: small wonder they are calling it New Zealand's best car.

"The i30 leads its class for features, value and economy," said the Chief Operations Officer of Hyundai NZ, Tom Ruddenklau.

"In both i30 hatch and i30cw wagon form, this is a small car with a big pedigree.

"We are not surprised to see it reach the half-million sales mark so quickly."

Designed in Germany to blend sleek styling with intelligent technology, i30 is capable of travelling from Auckland to Timaru on one tank of fuel (based on i30 1.6 CRDi M5 fuel consumption in the 2008 EnergyWise Rally of 4.1 litres/100km. i30 fuel tank size 53l.)
