New Zealand awards Hyundai Business Excellence

Hyundai Motor Group has been awarded the Business Excellence Award by the Korea New Zealand Business Council.

This award was presented by the New Zealand Prime Minister, the Honorable John Key in Seoul on July 6th, 2010, at the Joint meeting of the KCCI and KNZBC in the Grand Hyatt Hotel.

The criteria of the award was expanded to include length of relationship and also investment in both New Zealand and Korea. The Hyundai Motor Group was chosen for the success of the Hyundai range of passenger cars and light commercials in particular, and the time they have been represented in New Zealand, since 1982. There is also Hyundai commercial vehicles and SeasAll marine engines.

Hyundai Rotem have secured a major tender for supply of EMU's to Kiwi Rail for the passenger services in Wellington, and Hyundai Hysco are a joint venture partner in deep sea oil exploration off the coast of Taranaki in the North Island, New Zealand.

This trade relationship epitimises the spirit of a Free Trade Agreement and shows the way for the current discussions being held by Korea and New Zealand for an FTA between countries.
